Services

I offer advisory and capacity-building services at the intersection of international law, protection and institutional practice.

Services A and B constitute the core of my advisory work, while capacity building and training (C) is a cross-cutting component that can be integrated across all levels, audiences and areas of engagement.

A. Human Rights–Based Programming & Prevention Advisory

(Organisational and programme level)

I work with organisations to strengthen the substance and credibility of their human rights–based programming, ensuring that programmes are grounded in protection principles and responsive to the realities of affected communities.

My approach combines legal expertise with field-based protection practice and participatory methodologies.

Services include:

  • Human Rights–Based Approach (HRBA) reviews and programme assessments

  • Integration of participation, accountability and non-discrimination into programming

  • Community-based protection and resilience strategies

  • Gender, GBV/SV and inclusion analysis

  • Protection risk assessments and mitigation planning

  • Strengthening monitoring, evaluation and reporting frameworks (UN, EU, ECHO)

Focus: ensuring that programmes are protective in practice — not only compliant in reporting

B. Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Compliance & Preparedness

(Organisational and institutional level)

I advise humanitarian organisations, public authorities and institutional actors on strengthening compliance with international legal standards and preventing harm before crises escalate.

This includes strengthening legal, policy and operational frameworks, as well as institutional preparedness to ensure effective protection in both stable and crisis contexts.

Services include:

  • Advisory on national implementation of international human rights law (IHRL) and international humanitarian law (IHL)

  • Review of preparedness and contingency frameworks through a protection lens

  • Strengthening legal and procedural safeguards for crisis and conflict contexts

  • Development of policies, SOPs and operational guidance

  • Security-sector compliance advisory (military, police, justice actors)

  • Linking community-level protection concerns to institutional reform and readiness

Focus: ensuring that systems, policies and institutions uphold rights in both peace and crisis

C. Capacity Building & Training

(Across all levels/ cross- cutting both A and B: community, organisational and institutional levels)

I design and deliver tailored, practice-oriented training and capacity-building programmes for a wide range of audiences, including humanitarian organisations, public authorities, security actors and academic institutions.

My work translates complex legal and protection frameworks into accessible, actionable learning grounded in real-world experience.

Services include:

  • Training on IHRL, IHL, other relevant legal frameworks and protection of civilians

  • Human rights–based programming and protection mainstreaming

  • Community-based protection and resilience methodologies

  • Prevention of GBV/SV and inclusion-focused programming

  • Facilitation of workshops, scenario-based learning and multi-stakeholder dialogue

Focus: building practical understanding and operational capacity — not only theoretical knowledge
